Pole 2 Pole: From Guerrilla Tactics to World Class Habits

Pole 2 PoleCoachworks Consulting and Motor Trade Consulting UK have revealed details of their Pole 2 Pole workshops – a ground-breaking programme addressing the polarisation in retailer performance.

The topics discussed during this one-day interactive programme will range from “guerrilla tactics” for survival to industry-leading habits to release cash immediately for investment.

This is the first joint initiative created by the two businesses, and it is being driven and delivered by Coachworks Managing Director Karl Davis and Simon Parker, Managing Director at Motor Trade Consulting.

Aftersales on the up at J Davy as Race for Growth Continues

Just months after signing up to Coachworks Consulting’s Race for Growth programme, Vauxhall outlet J Davy has increased aftersales revenues across the aftersales department.

The Basingstoke dealership started the 26-week programme in June, and revenues are rising on the back of identifying more opportunities to sell.

Excluding PDIs, the proportion of vehicles receiving a VHC has increased from 88 per cent to 99 per cent.

Red and amber work identified increased 26 per cent between January and September compared to the same period last year, while red work sold has risen by 23 per cent and amber work sold has gone up by 17.5 per cent. (more…)

Don’t Mortgage the Fourth Quarter With Self-registrations

Retailers which focus on delivering high-quality retail sales will avoid a self-registration hangover in Quarter Four.

Coachworks Consulting is urging Dealer Principals to do all they can to maintain margins and profitability rather than cash in on self-registration bonuses.

Coachworks made the call after Cap said that self-registrations now account for three in ten new car sales.

Karl Davis, Managing Director of Coachworks Consulting, said: “There is already evidence that self-registrations are having an impact on forecourts, with the average period a second hand car is in stock rising to 65 days this year compared to 60 last year.

“New car registrations were up 9.3 per cent in July, but wider economic indicators like GDP and earnings tell us the market can’t be growing, and it’s self-registrations that are skewing the picture. (more…)

Automotive industry specialist Coachworks Consulting has carried out growth appraisals at two Vauxhall retailers.

 

Both now have a clear understanding of the strengths of their outlets and the opportunities that exist to increase car sales and aftersales.

The growth appraisals, one of which took place at Bristol-based Saltford Motors, were delivered after the retailers commissioned Coachworks to carry out authentic mystery shops.

These assessed how well sales and service enquiries were handled – and identified missed opportunities to increase revenues. (more…)
