Coachworks offers light bites to stimulate growth

August 30, 2012

Coachworks Consulting has been providing business improvement support to retailers and manufacturers for over 10 years.

Food for Thought from Coachworks Consulting

During that period there have been many changes in both the industry and the economy, which have meant that  returning a satisfactory level of profitability is becoming much more of a challenge.

Next week, in a menu of 4 daily courses, Coachworks offers light bites to satisfy every appetite for growth and which will appeal to most tastes for increasing profitability.

Recognising that all departments are under pressure, there will be advice on ways of improving profitability right across the business.

For Starters…

we can address the seemingly unending slide in overhead absorption rates which are plunging ever closer to the 50% mark across the industry.

For our EntrĂ©e…

we address the way that vehicle sales leads are handled to try and counter both the reliance on self-registrations to meet targets and the reduction in used vehicle stock turn recently reported.

The Main Course…

focuses on how telephone calls are handled in Call Centres and on the front line. In a tough market, in particular, the first point of contact with customers needs to be professional and effective.

The Dessert…

looks at how we get the business fit for the final Quarter of 2012 and mitigate the impact of the poor new car market associated with the post September period, so that we are well placed to maximise the opportunities that Q1 and the rest of 2013 will bring.

Don’t Mortgage the Fourth Quarter With Self-registrations

August 14, 2012

Retailers which focus on delivering high-quality retail sales will avoid a self-registration hangover in Quarter Four.

Coachworks Consulting is urging Dealer Principals to do all they can to maintain margins and profitability rather than cash in on self-registration bonuses.

Coachworks made the call after Cap said that self-registrations now account for three in ten new car sales.

Karl Davis, Managing Director of Coachworks Consulting, said: “There is already evidence that self-registrations are having an impact on forecourts, with the average period a second hand car is in stock rising to 65 days this year compared to 60 last year.

“New car registrations were up 9.3 per cent in July, but wider economic indicators like GDP and earnings tell us the market can’t be growing, and it’s self-registrations that are skewing the picture. (more…)

Success at Motor Trader Awards

Coachworks Consulting was delighted for Vauxhall UK and its retailers as they were honoured at last month’s Motor Trader Awards.

Judges gave Vauxhall UK a “highly-commended” accolade in the training category for its Road to Growth business improvement programme.

Road to Growth has started to transform aftersales performance across the network by challenging cultures and processes and developing improvement plans that will pay dividends for both retailer and manufacturer for years to come.

The programme, which was created and delivered by Coachworks, saw Vauxhall UK finish ahead of all the other manufacturers shortlisted for the training award. (more…)

Three More Outlets Join the Race for Growth

A Vauxhall retailer group has signed up three more sites for Coachworks Consulting’s Race for Growth aftersales development programme.

Earlier this year, J Davy took on Coachworks to deliver Race for Growth at one of its dealerships in Basingstoke.

J Davy had teamed up with the FG Barnes group to commission the programme – the first collaborative project drawn up by the Coachworks team.

Just a few months into the 26-week programme, Coachworks has been asked to deliver Race for Growth at J Davy’s sister company Rowcliffes. (more…)

Uncover the Hidden Opportunities for Growth

August 12, 2012

Retailers can show strong growth in the remaining part of the year in spite of the tough economic conditions, according to Coachworks Consulting.

There are untapped sales and profit opportunities at every outlet in the country, Coachworks said – it’s just a matter of finding them and exploiting them efficiently.

Now the automotive improvement specialist has launched a special offer on its one-day Growth Appraisals to help Dealer Principals unlock immediate growth potential.

Coachworks Managing Director Karl Davis said: “There are nearly always more opportunities than senior managers believe. (more…)
