The move follows a nine-month development plan between both parties to implement the bespoke ‘Race For Growth’ initiative, created to drive forward positive change to Pentagon’s aftersales activity.

Ranked 16th in the 2009 AM100, with a turnover in excess of £350 million, Pentagon will now put all fifteen of its dealerships through the programme – which focuses on developing a ‘sell and serve’ culture throughout an organisation, to drive up sales and improve customer satisfaction.

Trevor Reeve, managing director of Pentagon, which has its headquarters in Derby, said: “After a year of consolidation, we’ve now made our biggest ever single investment in aftersales by commissioning the Race for Growth programme.

“We firmly believe this investment will deliver significant benefits to our business performance.”

Pentagon’s human resources director, Graham Hall said:  “Manufacturers do a great job with technical and process training, but there is often a gap when it comes to providing the softer sales skills for service advisers.
